What is a codeshare flight?

A codeshare flight is marketed by one carrier and operated by another.

Codeshare flights are the result of agreements between airlines to sell seats on each other's flights so as to provide passengers with a wider choice of destinations.

A ticket for a codeshare flight has the flight number of the airline with which you've booked your travel but it may be operated by another carrier.
